from $189 · $69 diagnostic credited to your repair
Costco or Amazon spa, nobody to call? We've got you.
AquaRest — made by Strong Spas and sold through Costco, Amazon and Home Depot — is the classic “ships to your driveway, then you're on your own” hot tub. There's no local dealer and no service department behind the sale. We're the independent shop that fills that gap: we repair AquaRest heaters and pumps directly, flat-rate, same-day, with the $69 diagnostic credited to your repair.
What tends to fail on an AquaRest
AquaRest tubs are designed to be plug-and-play — a rotomolded cabinet you set down, fill, and run off a standard outlet — which is why they sell so well online. The flip side is that owners assume a self-contained tub means a self-contained, unfixable system. It isn't: inside are universal control, heater and pump components, so the “no dealer” problem is about who shows up, not about exotic parts.
Because most AquaRest models run on 110v plug-and-play power, the common complaints are heating-related. The flow-through heater element either grounds out and trips the cord's GFCI, or it scales up in our hard water and the tub stalls a few degrees short of set temperature. With limited 110v headroom, a weak element can't hide — which makes it straightforward for us to confirm and replace.
On the pump side, AquaRest uses standard spa pumps, so the failures are the universal ones: a motor that hums but won't spin on a dead start capacitor, worn bearings that screech, or a shaft seal that's begun to leak. Those are off-the-shelf parts we carry, so an AquaRest pump repair is same-day rather than a long wait on a manufacturer that doesn't do local field service.
